@Barcelona, with a population of over 1.6 million people, is Spain's second largest city after the capital, Madrid. This popular tourist destination also features many buildings left by the historic architect, Antoni Gaudi. Gaudi spent his creative years here, and thus the city is home to many officially designated World Heritage Sites, such as the Sagrada Familia.
So, when G-Shock's World Tour arrived in Barcelona, the event was held at the Casa Batllo, one of the buildings designed by Gaudi. Gaudis' building (which is also a World Heritage Site) belonged to G-Shock for the day. G-Shock visuals, including the G-Shock flag, a decorated G-Shock Man character, plus a painting performance by art ambassador, Mr. Zeta, were everywhere to be seen. It was enough to capture the attention of not only the tourists, but local residents as well. During the opening conference, Mr. Ibe, the man who developed G-Shock, gave a presentation entitled the gBirth of G-Shockh. There was also a special guest appearance made by RCD Espanyol team member Shunsuke Nakamura, who has also been featured on G-Shock's Shock the World website. Mr. Nakamura and Mr. Ibe held a passionate discussion about G-Shock's allure. As expected, the guests, many of whom belonged to the media, were thrilled to listen to a member of the local soccer team and burst into cheers at the end of the conference. The one-and-a-half-hour conference was immediately followed by the customary afterparty. The party was a huge success and there was an amazing sense of unity shown between the guests and participating artists. The dream-like festival at the Casa Batllo then came to an end.
