G-Shock's SHOCK THE WORLD TOUR arrived in Bangkok, Thailand's economic and political capital, after a 6 hour flight from Japan. The party was held at Club DEMO, one of Bangkok's most popular night clubs, especially with the younger crowd.
On the day of the event, Club DEMO was lit up by a G-SHOCK logo reflected against the outside wall, and a G-SHOCK arcade constructed by arranging aquariums was set up near the entrance. The entire place was painted G-SHOCK. In addition, a crowd of young people who'd heard about the event gathered in front of Club DEMO before the doors opened, creating a party atmosphere. Even G-Shock's SHOCK THE WORLD TOUR staff was blown away by the response, which exceeded all expectations.
When the opening press conference started, the entire media was there to cover Kikuo Ibe (aka "Mr. G-SHOCK"), Pichai Chirathivat the CEO of Central Trading,
and Nat Sarasas, designer of the G-SHOCK "Hanuman" collaboration-watch collection. The conference was followed by a photo session, with famous Bangkok celebrities gladly posing in front of the G-SHOCK MAN.
Popular DJ's, well known even in Bangkok, gathered for the post-conference party and pumped up the crowd. Of particular note, were two special guests from Japan, OFF THE ROCKER's DJ duo, Shinichi Osawa and Masatoshi Uemura, who arrived on the scene on very short notice. Mr. Osawa is the "Musical Multi Personality" who's worked on countless producing and remix works for international artists. Mr. Uemura, on the other hand, DJ's at PARTY, a fashion brand parties for the fashion community while also working as chief buyer for bonjour records. Playing back to back, the two DJ's won the crowd over as they alternated between songs. It was an electrifying performance that shook the entire house.
