The G-SHOCK bus was the VIP suite of choice for the likes of Mark Ronson, Estelle, and The Hoosiers over two jam-packed weekends at this year's Wakestock festival.
Wakeboarding stars schmoozed with rock and hip hop royalty on board the double decker routemaster, quaffing champagne cocktails and relishing the chance to get their hands on limited edition G-SHOCK products. What more could they have wanted?
Groove Armada were the first to take advantage of the buses' luxuries in the VIP area at Blenheim Palace, partying before and after their set and well into the early hours of the morning. Every whim was catered to as the stars found a haven from the heaving crowds outside, and TIGI's Artistic Director Keiron Webb was even on-hand to give Mark Ronson a haircut on board!
Four days of thumping house began as Casio's DJs dropped the most dangerous beats, turning the G-SHOCK bus into a non-stop portable party. Radio One's Jo Whiley and Zane Lowe stopped for photographs on board while Estelle posed in the sun with her white limited edition G-SHOCK Hot!
Standing outside the bus at the Blenheim Palace leg of the festival, Estelle said: "The atmosphere has been great today. I've been enjoying the sunshine outside the G-SHOCK bus with a few of the other artists who are performing here, and I'm loving my limited edition G-SHOCK! It's been a bag of fun."
G-Shock Rocks WakeStock Abersoch Jagga, lead singer of Devil's Gun, treated the bottom deck of the bus to an impromptu blast on the bongos at Blenheim Palace, as Happy Monday's frontman Baz rocked up at 1am, drinking vodka shots with the G-SHOCK team until 4am. Groove Armada's Mikey entertained guests and staff by singing all of his drinks requests at the bar, at the request of G-SHOCK barman Adrian Crompton.
Crompton said: "By the end of the night the bar would be packed, and since Mikey and I got on pretty well he offered to help me serve tequila shots to everyone, sampling a few for himself too! The location of the bus was perfect as it was right next to the stage and the artist's dressing rooms. It meant that most of the stars passed through the bus at some point, and it was great to meet everyone. We had a lock-in at the end of the night with Groove Armada and the Happy Mondays, and no-one wanted to leave, even at 4am!"
The star-studded event descended on Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire on 27-29 June, and Abersoch, North Wales on 4-6 July. Wakestock is Europe's largest music and wakeboarding festival, with this year's event featuring performances from the likes of Duffy, The Streets, Pendulum, Sam Sparro and Calvin Harris.
As well as live music, Wakestock goers were also treated to wakeboarding displays - the sport is a cross between surfing, skiing, and snowboarding. Now in its eighth year, the event attracts over 10,000 festival fans every year.
